Free points

Points are free play money. They let you call any public prediction, win bragging rights, and build a track record without risking a cent.

Every new account starts with 500 points, and you get more for free every day through the daily drip. Points are how most people play kapiche: pick a side in the public feed, see if you called it right, and watch your reputation climb.

500 on signup

A starter stack lands in your account the moment you join, so you can make your first call right away.

A daily drip

Free points top you up every day. Come back, call more, and keep your stack healthy without spending anything.

Points are not money

Points are for fun and reputation only. They are never shown with a dollar sign, are non-transferable, and have no cash value: they cannot be bought or sold, sent to another user, withdrawn, or cashed out. If you want to play for real, that is a separate, private flow using your own USDC. See Real money with friends.

Calling a public pot with points

Public pots in the Discover feed are played in points. Making a call takes a few seconds:

1

Open a pot

Tap any prediction in the feed. A points pot shows a green PLAY banner so you always know it is play money.
2

Pick your side

Choose a side (for example Yes or No). You commit the pot's fixed entry stake, so everyone is in for the same.
3

Confirm your position

A quick confirm shows the exact points you are putting on the line. Confirm to lock in your call.
4

Let it resolve

When the pot resolves, the result updates your Oracle accuracy. Call it right consistently and it shows.

Why points matter

Points cannot be cashed out, so what are they for? Reputation. Every resolved points call counts toward your record:

  • They build your Oracle accuracy, the public measure of how often you call it right.
  • They let you practice and find your edge before anyone plays for real.
  • They put you on the leaderboard, where being right is the only thing that ranks you.

FAQ

How much do I win when I call it right?

It depends on the pot. Community pots split the whole pot among the winners, and Polymarket-mirrored pots pay fixed odds locked at the moment you commit. See how winnings are paid on the Pots page. Winnings are always points on public pots, never dollars.

Can I cash out my points?

No. Points are play money and can never be converted to cash or USDC. Real money on kapiche is always your own USDC in your own wallet.

Will I ever run out of points?

The daily drip keeps topping you up for free, so you can always keep playing.

Are points the same as the dollar amounts on some pots?

No. Some public pots mirror Polymarket and show that source's real dollar volume, which is clearly attributed. That figure is not your points and not the kapiche pot's own value.
